TWA Center at JFK Open to Public This Weekend

I’m a complete nerd for all things aviation, which makes this bit of news particularly exciting for me.

As part of openhousenewyork, the defunct TWA Flight Center at JFK has been spit-polished and will be open to the public this Sunday, Oct. 16 from 1-4 p.m. It’s a unique piece of New York architecture and history, and I’d love to go check this out.

Originally opened in 1962, it served as the original terminal for Trans-World Airlines (TWA).

For more information about the event, click here. While you’re on the website, browse around at all the other interesting events happening around NYC as part of the project, because there are lots of things to do that aren’t normally accessible by the public at large.
